Real-time PCR primers
Bone marker qRT-PCR primers used in the Aubin lab. Please note that this list is under contruction. Use your browser search button to find your gene of interest. Note: for primers near the 5' end of the gene, it is recommended to include random hexamers in the reverse transcription reaction. All primers listed there span intronic sequences and have not been shown to amplify genomic DNA in our hands.
To create your own primers (CSB does not support or endorse any of these sites):
NCBI -Primer designing tool at the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Also available on this site are many useful tools including BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Tool)
Or search another primer database:
PrimerBank at the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Primer sequences may need to be checked
PCR Data Analysis
Real-time PCR Miner can be used to quantify results from raw data. PCR miner is " an objective method for quantifying qRT-PCR results using calculations based on the kinetics of individual PCR reactions without the need of the standard curve, independent of any assumptions or subjective judgments which allow direct calculation of efficiency and CT ".
